International Solidarity Learning and Development – 18-19 November 2017

A course for NUT members to enhance their teaching and learning practice on global issues and promote the NUT’s work as active international solidarity officers. By the end of the course, participants will:

  • have the skills and knowledge to carry out the role of the International Solidarity Officer
  • have enhanced their knowledge and skills related to teaching and learning about the key concepts of Global Citizenship – interdependence, diversity, human rights, peace and conflict and sustainability
  • have gained strategies for tackling controversial issues
  • have evaluated activities that encourage action for change through collaborative classroom teaching strategies
  • have begun to plan and organise international solidarity projects for their school, local association or division
